DIY w/ The Vegan Bean: Morning Sunshine Muffins (for Healthy Hair)

Ok, so we know we've been teasing you with clips of our new blog ,The Sip, but this delicious post was worth the wait! We did a collaboration with vegan blogger, Clara (who goes by the adorable name The Vegan Bean) & she did a yummy DIY using our Prettea Hair blend. Even better, it's oil free, sugar free & gluten free which means it's guilt free! In the words of Clara, "it's plant-based goodness for the mind, body and soul." Just pin it and thank us later.

Morning Sunshine Muffins for Healthy Hair

(directions by The Vegan Bean)

Benefits

Banana: Filled with potassium and vitamin B6, bananas are also known to increase energy and assist with digestion. They add a little boost to this recipe! Cinnamon: A great source of antioxidants and also anti-inflammatory. Flax: A wonderful source of Omega 3 fatty acids (the good fats!). These fats also work to increase hair elasticity and prevent breakage! Prettea Hair: Promotes healthy hair with ingredients that work together to promote growth, strengthen hair follicle & strand, stimulate the scalp, and add luster. It’s such a lovely (and easy!) addition to a natural hair care routine, and the fruity flavour works SO well with these Morning Sunshine muffins.

Ingredients

2 tsp Sipping Prettea Hair 1 cup hot water 1/3 cup mashed banana 1/4 cup maple syrup 1 tsp vanilla 2/3 cup nut milk of choice (I used unsweetened almond!) 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar 2 cups oat flour 1/2 cup coconut flour 1 tsp baking soda Dash of salt 1/2 tbsp ground flax seed 1/2 tsp cinnamon Add-ons of choice! (I used dried pineapple and unsweetened shredded coconut!)

Method

Start by combining the loose tea with the hot water and allow it to steep for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine the nut milk and apple cider vinegar and allow that to sit for around 5-10 mins as well (this creates a sort of “buttermilk”). In the meantime, add the flours, baking soda, salt, flax, and cinnamon into a large bowl and mix until combined. Once the tea is steeped, strain it into a bowl and add the banana, syrup, and vanilla and mix that until combined as well. Add this mixture and the buttermilk into the dry mixture and stir until a fluffy batter is formed. Mix in whichever add-on’s your heart desires (I used dried pineapple and coconut, but you can also go with things like dark chocolate, berries, nuts, or anything else your heart desires), and bake at 350 for 15-20 mins until a toothpick comes out clean. Note: if you don’t have muffin cups, you can also drop by heaping spoonful onto a baking tray to make scones for the same cook time. Enjoy! And have so much fun creating (I know I did!). #tea #teablends #diy #diyers #vegan #vegantreats #veganbloggers #foodie #foodbloggers #allnatural #glutenfree #sugarfree #organic #healthyeating
